San Air Tools Air Motor Model AM - 100R successfully propels a vehicle weighing 260 kgs. The vehicle speed was 1.5 km/hr with the air tank pressurized to push the vehicle 9 meters. This B.E. Final year engineering project at National Institute of Technology, Calicut would be amongst the first of its kind. Though the concept is yet not feasible commercially, it does bring in a lot of insight into the technology needed to power a car on compressed air.
