Motorised Barrel Pumps are used for Pumping liquids from Barrels to reactors, carboys, drums and other vessels. Motorised Barrel pumps feature 3 types of motors. Used with Electric, Air and battery operated electric motors. Barrel pump tubes are available in different configurations.

Different Barrel Pump tubes are used for different liquids. For example Barrel Pump Tube constructed in

1. Barrel Pump tube: Aluminium, is suitable for engine oils, lubricant oils, Hydraulic Oils, Diesel, and non reactive liquids.
2. Barrel Pump tube: SS316L. Stainless steel is suitable for reactive chemicals, food supplements, solvents for chemical industries, low concentration acids (less than 30%)
3. Barrel Pump tube: Polypropelene is used for acids and toxic chemicals that react with Stainless Steel.
4. Barrel Pump tube: SS316L Electropolished (Sanitary) is used for Pharma and sanitary applications for majorly solvent transfer application. Solvents include IPA, Acetone, Methanol, Ethanol, Methylene dichloride, etc.
5. Barrel Pump tube: PVDF is used in Food grade applications.

Electric motors have a lower operating cost as compared to Air motors and majority of applications can be satisfied with Electric Operated Barrel Pumps. Air operated motors have the advantage of use in Flammable environments. Air operated motors are light in weight and can work continuously without heating up. Ideal for solvents and pharma applications. Air motors are available in both Stainless Steel and Mild Steel construction. Electric motors when tun continuously can heat up and have to be stopped every 5 to 10 mins with a 5 minute break to prevent motor burnout.

Barrel Pumps features a lean construction with a Polypropylene moulded impeller that rotates at speeds from 12000 to 16000 rpm. With Oil seals available in Viton and EPDM they are resistant to most solvents and solutions. Centrifugal impellers based barrel pumps are used in pumping of low viscosity solutions less than 700 cps. Heads achieved can vary from 5 meters to 10 meters.

Flow rates can vary from 60 lpm t0 100 lpm at ground level. As the head increases the flow rate will drop. For flow rate beyond 100 lpm diaphragm pumps are recommended.
